Perseverance

When we were registering for our wedding we looked a lot for dishes. We had decided we wanted blue dishes. I found a set online I liked and thought mom was getting them. Well I don't know if mom just doesn't like blue dishes or if she just decided to get us other things but we ended up not getting dishes. Mom had gotten me some REALLY cute black and white spotted plastic plates the summer before and those are what we used.
I've looked online for at least a year trying to find dishes that fit us. I almost got some light blue ones at Down East in town but for some reason (I can't remember) I didn't get them. In November I was looking online thinking it was time we had some REAL dishes and finally found a set I liked. Even better I could go to the store and buy something cheap and get a 15% off coupon if I took a survey.
So I went to the store and finally decided to get some nylons. (No I couldn't find anything else). I went home and took the survey. I got back online to buy the dishes and hmmm... my coupon wouldn't work. I read all the fine print and couldn't figure out why not. I went back to the store the next week and they would give me the discount, but then I had to pay shipping, guess what, shipping is more expensive!
I guess I'm pretty stubborn because I refused to be happy with that. I googled the dishes and found them at another store, oh and for CHEAPER! (actually I found them before the whole coupon thing). So I went back to the cheaper site to get them and hmmm... they were expensive again. I kept checking them deciding that my computer had a cookie or something making me never see the sale price! Well I guess that was a bit crazy, but then when I was ready spend the little bit extra... they were out of stock!
I figured that maybe after Christmas things would be in stock again so I waited a bit more. Well that didn't happen, but the dishes at the cheaper site went on sale AND had free shipping but were still "unavailable". I called the online number to see if they could do something and of course NO. I called the other store to see if they would price match and of course NO.
Today I went shopping (at the store that the cheaper site belongs to) and they had a ton of dinnerware sets on clearance. AHH... PANIC! I am never going to get my dishes! I guess I will just have to go to the expensive rip off site. If I really like them in the long run it will be good. Well I decided to check the cheap site one more time and SURPRISE! They were there, on sale AND free shipping! We are finally going to have real dishes! I'm glad for once that waiting paid off, I hope you guys like them too.

Love them. Aren't you glad you didn't get the blue ones. I like these better. Guess what, I got the dishes I wanted for Christmas, I've been using my college dishes since '96.

Cool, they remind me a little bit of mine. Mine are white with black flowers.

Thank you. I'm really glad I finally found some I like and didn't have to use the plastic ones for 13 years. It will be really nice to be able to microwave on more than two plates too. I actually looked at some that had flowers, but Justin didn't really want flowers.
