Here is a little update on how Justin's job is doing...
I graduated from ISU in Mechanical Engineering in May of this year. In early June I started working for Scientech in Idaho Falls. I am a Thermal Performance Engineer, which means I sit at my desk and work on my computer building computer models of power plants. The two specific models that I work on are analysis of the plant and predicting what would happen if certain parameters change. The model that analyses the plant takes some instrumentation that is at the plant and uses that data to perform calculations to show how the plant is running. This is useful in seeing what can be improved so that more power can be produced with the least amount of energy being imputed. The other model is used to see what would happen if, like I said before, certain parameters were changed within the plant. I have now been there for 3 months – crazy - and I love my job. Soon, I will be going to the power plant that I have been working on to install the model.
